Last year the Huntsville Botanical Garden held a Mother’s Day tea and the city’s Parks and Recreation Department a free moms’ night out, and the city’s outdoor markets were back for the season by early May.

Mom & Me Tea. The Garden’s Mother’s Day tea seats families at shared tables in the Carriage House for a flight of four teas from Huntsville’s Piper & Leaf, with finger sandwiches and vegan scones from Fern & Feast Bistro and macarons from Little Macs, the Garden said. Moms’ Night Out. Huntsville Parks and Recreation hosted a free, beginner-friendly Latin dance class for moms 21 and older; space was limited and reservations were required, the city said.

  • Lowe Mill Outdoor Market: Saturdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from early May through late October, free entry, on the grounds of Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, 2211 Seminole Drive SW. The studios inside are open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Lowe Mill says.
  • The Greene Street Market at Nativity: Thursday afternoons at 208 Eustis Ave. downtown; the 2026 season opened May 7. Details on our farmers markets guide and the market’s site.
  • Harrison Brothers Hardware, 124 Southside Square: the Historic Huntsville Foundation’s shop on the courthouse square is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, its site says.
