Paying: there is no ATM, but the admin tent at the south end sells market tokens that work like cash with every vendor. The market accepts SNAP/EBT and offers Double Up Food Bucks “to stretch your food dollars”; details are at the admin tent.

Madison County Farmers Market

Where: 1022 Cook Ave., in a market building put up in 1984 When: Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., through Nov. 21, 2026, according to the county’s page

The county says its market is one of the oldest institutions still in business: it started in the basement of the Madison County Courthouse as early as 1814. The west end of the building is for commercial vendors who buy and resell produce; the middle is set aside for farmers selling their own crops. The busy season starts in June, when corn, okra, tomatoes and squash lead, along with greens, beans, field peas and fruit. The county’s 2026 handbook and vendor applications are on the same page.
