Huntsville’s barbecue is spread across the city: Moe’s is downtown and Ted’s is in Five Points, Full Moon is on North Memorial Parkway, Jim ‘N Nick’s has a restaurant on University Drive and one in Jones Valley, and two more are in West Huntsville.
How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Huntsville’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 17, 2026. We added Moe’s Original BBQ and Ted’s Bar-B-Q from the Downtown Huntsville dining directory and Bark & Barrel BBQ from the Stovehouse directory. We left out Dreamland BBQ, whose site no longer lists a Huntsville location, and places with no website or no Huntsville address on their own site. The list is alphabetical. The places
Bark & Barrel BBQ is a counter in the Stovehouse food hall that the Stovehouse directory describes as Alabama barbecue, with house-smoked wings, turkey, homemade chips and sides. It posts daily specials on Facebook, and seating is shared across the Stovehouse campus.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit on Governors West is a location of the barbecue chain. Its page lists the hours above, including a Friday closure, and says this store does not take online orders, so call ahead.
Full Moon Bar-B-Que is Full Moon’s Huntsville restaurant, next to Costco. It serves turkey and chicken sandwiches with Alabama white sauce among its barbecue, and has dine-in, catering and spirits menus.
Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q has two Huntsville restaurants with the same hours. Both take to-go, delivery and catering orders through the site.
Moe’s Original BBQ downtown on Holmes Avenue serves Alabama-style barbecue smoked low and slow, it says. Its bar stays open to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and to midnight Friday and Saturday, and it caters.
Ted’s Bar-B-Q in Five Points serves homemade Brunswick stew daily, beef brisket on Wednesday and St. Louis-style ribs Monday to Saturday. It takes reservations and special orders and has a loyalty points program.
