Huntsville’s biggest road jobs are run with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) under the city’s Restore Our Roads partnership. The headline this week: ALDOT has overnight lane closures on Memorial Parkway between Country Club Avenue and Meridian Street, now extended through Friday, Nov. 20. The new overpass at Mastin Lake Road is open, and the city says the underpass beneath it should be finished before Thanksgiving. For live closures on interstates and state highways, check ALGO Traffic, ALDOT’s traveler information site and app.

Resurfacing
The city maintains more than 3,200 lane miles of paved road. Public Works surveys every street at least once every two years and scores it from zero (best) to 60 (worst); the score and the traffic volume set the order for repaving. This year’s lists: fiscal 2026 Phase 1 and Phase 2.
