Huntsville's 2026 July 4 celebration ended with 9 p.m. fireworks in Big Spring Park after the American Eras Parade. The 2027 plans are not out yet.

Last checked Oct. 17, 2026. This page is updated each year. The City of Huntsville has not announced its 2027 Fourth of July plans, so the details below are from the 2026 celebration, from the city’s July 1 what-to-know release and June 25 announcement. We will update it when the 2027 schedule is out.

Huntsville’s Fourth of July fireworks are the city’s own: in 2026 the fireworks finale went up over Big Spring Park at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 4, accompanied by the Huntsville Concert Band. The night closed a free afternoon of events downtown for America’s 250th birthday, led by the city’s Huntsville Salutes America’s 250th Committee.

Fireworks at home

The City Council amended the fireworks ordinance in 2023 to allow nonexplosive, nonaerial sparkling devices, ground-based and handheld, to be used, sold and bought in the city limits, the city said in 2024. The city asks residents not to set off fireworks after 10 p.m. and recommends:

  • Keep water handy to put out stray fireworks.
  • Never point fireworks at a person or a pet.
  • Never relight a dud; soak it in water before throwing it away.
  • Never let children light fireworks.

Huntsville Animal Services has held free “Boom Proof Your Pet” events in June ahead of the holiday.

What this means for you
